Oh, the places you’ll go!

Amazing visual adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s final book before his death. Brilliant idea by Teddy Saunders as well. He showed how exactly suitable the people of Burning Man are to the story.
This video reminds me that it’s okay to be crazy, it’s okay to be me… be free… Now inspired on a Sunday afternoon. Thanks Dr. Seuss 🙂
“You can get so confused that you’ll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place…
…for people just waiting.”
“NO That’s not for you!”
Somehow you’ll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You’ll find the bright places!

I came across a TED Video from Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work.
In the talk, Shawn Achor discusses how HAPPINESS makes humans work & think better. It’s true and proven that when one is happy, one is more productive, inspired to do better things and simply has a better outlook in life. The thing is, we all tend to push happiness further, as if unconsciously. As he mentioned, once we hit our goal, we automatically change our goal. When a student gets good grades, the student needs to get better grades. Once an employee hits a sales target, the sales target is automatically increased. It’s like a never ending chase to better things, better goals, better life.
We need to reverse the formula & realize the potential of being happy in the present. We need to appreciate the accomplishments and achievements, as well as be content with things and events that genuinely makes us happy. Because with this, if we stay in that happy state, our thoughts and actions automatically become better and more productive. Our brain functions better making everything else naturally better.
In reality, contentment is a tough virtue to practice (especially in today’s world). But once one has mastered the beauty of satisfaction and contentment, one will find his self in the place of peace and balance.
Stop thinking that the grass is always greener on the other side.
Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder …

Online, I have this thing of at least I end up doing checking random photos and videos of foreign people from all over the world. And just by looking at their photos, you realize their characteristics or how they are as a person. How fun & crazy the person is, how sporty and adventurous one is, or how somber and serious one can be. Stereotyping? Perhaps, not that I am being judgmental. But I find it rather amusing as I have no clue who these people are, yet I find a certain connection just by looking at photos. It’s like you have this imagination of being in that photo or video, maybe being friends with that person because you describe yourself as adventurous, or fashionable, or artsy just like that person (– so you think).
Then you see a link of cute well groomed dogs… AND JUST LIKE THAT, you’re imagination stops.
See what I mean??????
Looking back, 2011

Last year was a life changing year for me. It was a year of acceptance and transformation, a year that tested my own emotional strength. I missed and perhaps deliberately forgot about this blog as I was, from what i can recall, trying my best to live a better life and pick up what’s left of my broken heart… or of my pride.
Now that it’s 2012, 2 months shy of my self proclaimed singlehood anniversary… I am giving this blog (and my life) a new boost. More fabulous ramblings, more fun moments. Unless I get lazy… or busy…… And because I have been so emotional for the past few weeks, I am taking this opportunity to write again.
This year I will be focusing on self-motivation in all aspects of my life. I’ve come to a conclusion that I am better and wiser (YES!)… And no matter how tough or sad it may be, there’s always room for Resilience.
