Off Menu was held last 29 & 30 September 2023 in Shangri-la The Fort, Manila.

Meant to post this last year, somehow the photos got buried in my iPhone album. I honestly can’t remember which dish belonged to which chefs. I do remember a few because it stood out for me and my husband. The last photo is the dish from Chefs Josh Boutwood and Jorge Mendez. They named it Nyumen, a tamarind bone broth, with seared scallops and sukiyaki vegetables. I remember it being a cold soup, not sure if it was supposed to be served cold, but the soup was sour much to my delight and the noodles melted in my mouth. I thought it was one of the best dishes served that night.

My husband liked the first photo, a dish from Chefs Tom Bascon and Rhea Rizzo. It was braised beef tongue on a crispy masa boat, with orange demi glacé. tomatillo salsa, pickled red onions, cilantro, and habanero slices.

Wish they can figure out how to keep or serve the dishes warm. It was a fun event nevertheless, special thanks to the free flowing alcohol.
